Suite 301 GRAND JUNCTiUN FIEiD OFFICE
p % t DIVISION OF
Grand Junction, CO 81501 RECLAMATION MINING & SAFETY
s// C/
Re: Technical Revision for Casey Pit -Permit M-1978-349~j
Mr. Means, ~~" c/
This letter is to request a Technical Revision for the above referenced permit. This past
summer United Companies was nearing the completion of mining their Rifle Pit. The
final mining area was in the northwest comer. The demand for sand and gravel material
was more than the remaining Rifle Pit could produce. I, Richard Casey, the owner of
Casey Concrete have an existing mining permit (M-1978-349) that adjoins the United Pit.
United Companies came to an agreement to mine a portion of the Casey Permit. This
allowed United to continue mining once they reached the northwest boundary of their
permit.
Originally each reclamation plan showed the two permits separated by a dike, creating a
lake on the Casey Permit and a separate lake on the United Permit. Bill Bailey, United
Companies Rifle area manager, owns the ground containing the United Permit (M-1979-
205) and he also owns the ground within the portion of the Casey Permit area that is the
subject of this technical revision. He has no problem with having one lake instead of
two.
I have enclosed two map -sketches. One shows mining areas of each permit involved
with this technical revision request. The second one shows the resulting reclamation
change from two lakes to one lake.
Enclosed is a check for $188.00 for this Technical Revision request. If you have
questions or need more information let me know.
Sincerely,
` i'i' .. .
Dick Casey r
~~
Owner D,l~ ~ ~ r ~
r}l1lltilCl7 ~.'~ ~ •.
~llinint7 ;;nd ~a~-~J
Post Office Box 1815 Rifle, Colorado 81650 Fax (970) 625-1486
