The Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 33, Article 34,
Section 118, Paragraph 3 of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on December 19, 1995, an application
to revise coal mining operations at the Bear Mine was considered complete for the purposes of filing.
The revision was submitted by Bear Coal Company, Inc.. All review and comment periods as
provided in the Act and the Regulations initiate from this date of filing.
The revision addresses updating and revising the mine's hydrologic monitoring plan.
The underground coal mining operation on land located immediately southeast of the town of
Somerset, Colorado. The permit area is further described as follows:
Township 13 South. Range 90 West. 6th P.M.
Section 8: S'h SE'/a South of the River
Section 9: All South of the River
Section 15: W'h NW'/a, W'h SW'/a
Section 16: All
Section 17: All except portions of the N'h NW'/a
and except portions of the NW'/a NE'/a
