OF MINERALS
B GEOLOGY
Re: Trapper Mining Inc., Permit No. C-81-010
Minor Revision MR-165, Runoff Diversion around No Name Pond No. 2
With this submittal, Trapper is requesting approval for a minor revision to temporarily route
runoff from the No Name drainage aoound No Name No. 2 sediment pond through the
emergency spillway (refer to enclosed diversion schematic). The emergency spillway would
function temporarily as both the primary and emergency spillway. The proposed diversion is not
designed to contain a 10-year, 24-hour stone event. This is not a wncem, however, because if a
large storm event were to occur and overflow the diversion the water would simply flow back
into No Name No. 2 pond and discharge through the principal and, if necessary, emergency
spillways.
The purpose in temporarily rerouting this water would be to allow No Name No. 2 pond to dry
out so that sediment can more easily be removed. Sediment removal will begin in August of this
yeaz. There is sufficient capacity in No Name No. 4 and 5 ponds to treat runoff while No Name
No 2 pond is being cleaned.
Please contact me if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Forrest Luke
Environmental Manager
FVL
Imr-165cI.Joc]
c File 109.2.3.4
MR-165 File
John Husband BLM
P.O.
