Binns <br />Environmental Protection Specialist <br />Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety <br />Department of Natural Resources <br />1313 Sherman Street, Room 215 <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br />Re: Trapper Mine (Permit No. C-1981-010) <br />Permit Renewal Application No. 5 (RN-5) (CHS # 50509) <br />Dear Ms. Binns: <br />Thank you for your correspondence dated June 28, 2007 (received by our office on July 3) <br />concerning the project listed above <br />Because the renewal application proposes to renew the above-referenced coal mining and <br />reclamation permit and does not increase the area scheduled for surface ormining-related <br />disturbances beyond that which has previously been reviewed, it is our opinion that the <br />permit renewal will have no effect on historic properties. <br />If archaeological resources aze discovered during project activities, work must be <br />interrupted until the resources have been evaluated in terms of the National Register of <br />Historic Places eligibility criteria (36 CFR 60.4) in consultation with our office. <br />Thank you for the opportunity to comment.
