This letter is written in response to the Division's Adequacy Review of the above mentioned
application. The concems raised in your review will be addressed in the same order as your
letter.
1) Section 3.1.6 Water, Section 3.1.7 Groundwater and Exhibit G
The letter from Mr. Schmuck expresses concems about possible impacts to surface waters
in the azea from the wash plant. As indicated in our letter to Mr Schmuck dated January
17, 1996, we believe there will be no impacts to the surrounding surface waters.
In response to the information we provided to Mr. Schmuck, he has withdrawn his
objection to the perntit conversion in a letter to our firm dated January 21, 1996. A copy
was sent to you on January 23, 1996.
The letter from Mrs. Wright expresses concems about possible impacts to wells in the
azea and to a spring on her property. Our letter to Mrs. Wright, dated January 17, 1996,
explains our reasons for believing that this operation will not impact the groundwater in
this azea. A copy is enclosed.
We aze unable to locate the spring on a map, as it does not show up on any maps or
records that aze available to us. We have asked Mrs. Wright to locate the spring on a map
for us, so that we may better determine the potential for impacts. Unfortunately, we have
not received a response from Mrs. Wright. The applicant understands that there will be
an informal conference held at DMG on February 6, 1996, in order to attempt to resolve
the concerns raised by Mrs. Wright.
