Simpson <br />Slate Engineer <br />plvision c)t rmnetals ~ Geol°gY <br />RE: Colowyo Coal Mine (Permit No. C-81-019) <br />Technical Revision No. 32 (Section 16, Pit and Miscellaneous Drainage Modifications) <br />Dear Ms. Crosby: <br />This office has reviewed the referenced Technical Revision No. 32 and has the following <br />comments. <br />1) After reviewing the maps of pre- and post-mining drainage profiles 33 and 33A, as well as <br />pre-mining and post-mining cross sections, it appears no impoundments are created and <br />stream gradients are similar so that no apparent hydrologic changes will occur from the <br />proposed technical revision. <br />2) The site is currently operating with acourt-approved plan of augmentation to assure non- <br />injury to vested water rights (Water Court Case No. W-1122-Div. 6). <br />This office has no objection to the proposed Technical Revision No. 32. <br />CGR:jmg <br />Sincerely, <br />/,..~~ „m <br />`=~~; Chuck Roberts <br />Professional Engineer III <br />6415L.cgr <br />
