UN ~S, ~j3
~ ~,M~9~/a d~~ 4tt:~..
,,
Sunnyside Gold Corporation (SGC) provides the following information and clazifications
to address the six (6) adequacy issues to SGC's TR-26 submittal in your letter dated May
16, 2003.
1. Jeff Titus of the State Engineers Office, Division of Water Resources (DWR) was
contacted concerning exposure of groundwater during the reclamation project and
the possible construction of a pond. He agrees that with the limited information
now available it would be acceptable for SGC to wait until the information
needed for a General Well Permit is available. If a pond that exposes groundwater
is constructed, SGC will obtain a General Well Permit from D WR.
SGC has applied for a US Army Corps of Engineers Nationwide 38 Permit to
straighten and line the diversion ditch, permit any impact to the down-gradient
wetland this may cause and to clean the river banks of tailings.
The work area is within SGC's CDPHE COR-040054 Stormwater Permit azea.
2. In clarification to the planned disposition of the subsoil cap material and
embankment material that has been significantly contaminated with tailings,
SGC's plan is to relocate this material to Tailings Pond No.4 with the tailings.
The value of this material as growth or capping media will benon-existent due to
the tailings contamination.
1
