RECEIVE®
~I~Y 0 4 ~ 2004 i/ April 2s, 2004
Division of Minaral9 and Geology
Dear Sir:
I am writing to oppose the application by Everist Materials to change their permit from a
limited to a reg>~reclamation permit. The land where Everist mines is at the end of
Tiger Road and is surrounded by national forest. There aze many trails in this azea, and
all users access these trails on Tiger Road. Hikers, bikers, and horses use the trails in this
azea, and the dirt road accessing the rock-crushing azea in not wide enough to safely
allow the huge trucks which haul the rocks out of this azea. I personally have been nearly
knocked off the road by the trucks of Everist Materials while riding my bike. Tiger Road
curves through several subdivisions, and the trucks who carry the rocks out of this azea
aze lazge and noisy. I also live on Tiger Road, and the noise from these huge trucks has
decreased my property value: at one point, a mining truck was going through this
residential area every 22 seconds!! I would like to see the land where Everist mines
taken over by the National Forest Service, so that NO mining would take place, but I
certainly don't want Everist to get a permit which allows them to continue operations for
the next 11 yeazs.
Please act to preserve the beautiful trails and open spaces that we have in this azea!
Sincerely,
Jan Lowrey-Gutierrez ~
383 Tiger Road
Breckenridge, Co 80424

,.:.,, .

°"~ ~ ~ s
9'
~~ .
G~i ..2~
