The system consists of wells
installed in the alluvium and staff gauges in ponds, irrigation ditches and St. Vrain Creek. These
monitoring points have been installed periodically since 1994. Monthly water level measurements are
obtained from all wells, and groundwater sampling is performed in select wells semi-annually. This
work is performed by Rocky Mountain Consultants, Inc. (RMC) personnel. The data obtained is
reviewed and entered into our database for the site.
RMC furnishs all labor and equipment to perform the following:
1. Measure monthly groundwater levels in wells PZ-1 through PZ-38 and the domestic
well at the Zapf residence.
2. Measure monthly water levels at the staff gauges located near the wells.
3. Semi-annua4 collection of groundwater samples for laboratory analyses from wells PZ-
7, PZ-11, PZ-12, PZ-16, PZ-23, PZ-26, PZ-27, and PZ-37.
4. Maintenance of the well locations on a monthly basis. During the previous year of
monitoring the water levels, several incidents occurred where the well installations
were damaged by farm machinery due to their poor visibility. Routine maintenance of
each installation could mitigate damage to the wells. This work would include
painting, simple repairs, surveying, and clearing debris and vegetation from the
proximity of each installation.
S. Input monthly water elevations and semi-annual analytical results into a Quattro Pro
spreadsheet.
6. Deliver samples to the laboratory under chain of custody for analyses.
CIVIL AND ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING PLANNING
