Approximately 300,000 tons per year are transported
to the Elk Creek loadout from other mines in the area. Therefore,
the total production from the Elk Creek loadout will be 1.6 million
tons per year.
Somerset has obtained approval for the production increase from
Gunnison County in the form of LUC 1993-58 presented in Appendix D,
Volume 7. Somerset's air permits were also revised to provide for
the production increase. The air permits are presented in Appendix
C-4, Volume 7. Permit No. 90GU194F issued July 22, 1994, permits
up to 1.3 million tons per year to be produced from the Sanborn
Creek Mine. Permit No. 90GU477F issued May 17, 1994, provides for
1.6 million tons per year to be mined and or handled from the Elk
Creek facilities.
Enclosed is the revised B-Seam Mine Plan Map 5-007-B which was
developed based upon a 1.3 million ton per year production level.
Also enclosed are pages 2.05-4, 4i, 4ii, 4iii & 5 which were
revised to update the discussion of the mine operations and to
increase the anticipated production from the Sanborn Creek Mine.
Please call if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
/SC/w.U~
Jim Stover, P.E.
Consulting Engineer
cc: Tom Anderson
