Technical Revision No. 10 (Final Contours and Drainage Channel)
Dear Mr. Caskey:
Pursuant to Title 34, Article 33, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, the
Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice that on February 13,
1995, a technical revision application for a permit to conduct coal mining
operations by Eastside Coal Company, Inc., P.O. Box 161, Silt, CO 81652, was
deemed complete for the purposes of filing. All reviews and comment periods
as provided in the Act and Regulations promulgated thereunder initiate from
this day of filing.
The applicant proposes to revise underground coal mining operations at the
Eastside Mine. The technical revision is to revise the final contours of the
Eastside Mine portal area and to submit a design for the drainage channel
across the reclaimed area.
The Eastside Mine permit area is located in Section 24, Township 5 South,
Range 92 West, 6th P.M., and is shown on the USGS 7.5 minute quadrangle map of
Silt, Colorado.
Because the above referenced technical revision application might alter
previously approved permit conditions or mitigation measures, we are -
requesting your agency's evaluation of the proposal as it relates to fish and
wildlife considerations, including potential impacts to threatened or
endangered species.
A copy of the technical revision application is enclosed. In order for us to
comply with regulatory time frames, we request that comments be submitted to
the Division of Minerals and Geology at the above address by 5:00 p.m. on
March 15, 1995. If no comments are received by this date, we will proceed on
the assumption that your agency has no concerns with or objections to the
applicant's proposal.
A copy of the technical revision application is available for public
inspection at the Garfield County Courthouse, 109 8th Street, Suite 200,
