Page 200 Rb of Exhibit 19 specifically says that the containment berm is not considered
in the capacity calculation. Therefore, I see that there is a contributing drainage from the west
and sou[hwes[ of 0.63 acres rather [han 0.07. I believe [his would modify your length and slope
assumptions also.
Response
Southfield intends to construct a catchment basin completely around the cut material stockpile
to contain any runoff from the stockpile. During construction of the catchment basin, a berm
will placed on the outside of the basin. This berm will intercept and divert any undisturbed
run-off from the west and southwest preventing it from entering the catchment basin. The [ex[
on pages 200 Ra, 200 Rb, page 10 of the supplement, and Map 30 have been revised [o clarify
the catchment basin and berm configuration.
uestion 2
Second, I find the references to containment ditches found on pages 200 Ra of Exhibit 19 and
page 10 of the TR-20 supplement to Exhibit 15 to misrepresent the situation at the site. I
believe that you are lying to install paired diversion berms and catchment basins. Please modify
the narrative to clarify this distinction.
Response
The reference "containment ditches" has been changed to catchment basins on page 200 Ra and
page 10 of the supplement to clarify this distinction.
