Johnston
RE: Phone Conversation
I spoke with Kathy Welt of Mountain Coal Company on this date. We
discussed a number of things including the status of MCC's
responses to the Division's preliminary adequacy letter dated
January 7, 1993. In this letter, I asked for MCC's responses to be
submitted to the Division by January 29, 1993, so that we would
have sufficient time to review the res~nses and provide a proposed
decision by February 8, 1993.
The responses were not received on January 29, 1993. Ms. Welt
stated that she did not realize I had specified a date in my
letter. She also said that they (MCC) had been working on the
responses due for Stipulations 44 and 45 (Renewal issues), which
were also due on January 29, 1993. The deadline for the above
stipulations had been moved back twice upon the request of MCC.
Because the proposed decision is due next week, I suggested that
MCC should ask for an extension to the deadline of February 8,
1993.
