Box 187 <br />Craig, Colorado 81626 <br />RE: Adequacy Review - Technical Revision 48 - C-81-010 <br />Dear Mr. Agnew: <br />This letter outlines those issues which must be resolved prior to our issuance <br />of an approval decision for the above-referenced technical revision <br />application. The decision deadline has been extended to July 3, 1990, as <br />discussed earlier today. <br />Section 1.U - 1989 Annual Reclamation Report <br />This section is acceptable. Please understand that the final regraded <br />topography is not approved with the approval of this technical revision. <br />However, some operators provide post minting topography information, including <br />contour maps, and longitudinal and cross-section profiles which show both the <br />approved and as-built configuration. You may request that the Division make <br />preliminary determination regarding compliance with the approximate original <br />contour requirements. Final approval occurs when Phase I bond release is <br />approved; however, interim determinations are useful. Please feel free to <br />request such determinations, and we can discuss the type of data needed for <br />our review. <br />Section 2.0 - Annual Hydrology Report <br />Sections 2.1 - 2.7 <br />These sections have been reviewed, and initially, it appears that the findings <br />presented by Trapper are reasonable. Please be aware that these sections of <br />the Annual Hydrology Report section will be reviewed in more detail as part of <br />our Midterm review. It is our understanding that these sections present the <br />hydrology data and data summaries for 1989, and that no changes are requested. <br />/ Section 2.8 - <br />This section proposes final abandonment of wells GA-3, GA-4 and GA-5. These <br />wells are not monitored under the existing permit requirements; therefore, the <br />request is acceptable. Please be sure to send the appropriate abandonment <br />reports when final reclamation occurs. <br />
