Each of the activities are described below.
In regards to the relocation of the 3'd Right gateroad, it will be relocated approximately 200 feet
to the south as shown on Map 23. The gateroad is within the previously approved mine plan area,
therefore there is no new affected area associated with it. The same mining methods will be used
to develop this gateroad as are currently being used at TCC.
The 2°d Right sump-in will allow for some construction activity that will facilitate future mining.
The affected area associated with this is approximately 1.2 acres, and the general area is shown
on Map 23. Again, this is limited to development work; therefore there will be no surface
disturbance associated with this work.
The Fish Creek Borehole discussion has been modified to reflect the addition of the sodium
hydroxide treatment of the effluent, installation of baffles in the cells, installation of an inter cell
line and aerator, and the potential for adding sulfuric acid to the effluent prior to discharge. All of
these improvements were done to aid in the treatment of iron being discharged from the mine. As
you are aware the NPDES has an extremely low total recoverable iron standard, and these
improvements allow TCC to meet this standard.
In the interim, if there are questions please contact me at your convenience.
Ric ard 'I s
Environmental Manager
Attachment
File: I:\environmental\rev ision\m inor-rv\99163c1.doc
