AMENDMENT HISTORY
In 1988 the Arapahoe County Board of Adjustment approved the Coal Creek Resource Special Exception
Use application (Case no. BA88-6 -03) submitted by the Cool Creek Land and Cattle Company. Triad
Western Corporation succeeded the Coal Creek Land and Cattle Company in 1990. The special exception
use allows mining of sand in and around Coal Creek, production of concrete and asphalt, and recycling of
concrete and asphalt- The permit area includes all or portions of Sections II, 13, 14, 24, 25 and 36,
Tot•nship 5 South, Range 65 West of the 6th P.M. This operation is located on land owned by the State of
Colorado.
At the time of the 1988 application with the County, Triad Western Corporation also obtained all the other
required permits and /or licences necessary to mine the site. The Coal Creek Resource site is being
successfully mined and reclaimed with minimal impacts to the environment.
Triad Western Corporation currently has a Minerals Lease with the State Board of Land Commissioners for
fhe.Coal Creek Resource site. The Lease was amended to exclude land and include net' land. The
adjustment in the leased area was due to a net,, definition of minable sand deposits. The purpose of this
amended application is to redefine the mining areas and update the County on the new mining and
reclamation proposals.
TOPQGRAPHY
The topography data was taken from the Coal Creek quadrangle map (U.S.G.S. 7.5 Minute Series). Since
this operation encompasses such a large area, it was necessary to use a 10 -foot topographic interval
rather than two -foof contours.
PARKING; ROAD SURFACE TREATMENT
Parking areas will be at the processing sites (see processing site detail). All the roads at this operation
are gravel and will be watered down as needed to suppress dust.
EASEMENTS ANp UTILITY SERVICE LINES
Sheets 3 through 6 include the location of easements, utility service lines, and other existing structures
within and around the Coal Creek Resource property.
