Jim Pendleton and Larry Routten of CMLRD and Ron Singh <br />an Roger Baker of OSMRE-WTC visited Colowyo with the primary purpose of seeing first hand <br />the site of the proposed West Pit Fill and Section 16 Fill. <br />At that time we took the opportunity to review a modification to the Section 16 Fill <br />whereby the fill volume would be reduced from 2.1 million yards to 1.5 million yards. The <br />modification would not however, change the fill construction techniques to be employed by <br />Colowyo and analyzed by CTL/Thompson in their Section 16 Fill report. <br />Upon his review of the proposed modification, Mr. Pendleton directed us to obtain a <br />supplemental analysis of the modified fill from CTL/Thompson. Should CTL/Thompson find <br />that the fill modification meets stability requirements, Colowyo should then forward a copy of <br />CTL/Thompson's correspondence along with the appropriate modified permit information to the <br />Division for inclusion into PR-O1. <br />In response to Mr. Pendleton's recommendations, we include herein the information <br />necessary to modify the Section 16 Fill design in PR-O1. <br /> <br />^ A letter dated May 5, 1992, from CTL/Thompson indicating the revised fill meets <br />stability. <br />
