TRAPPCR MiNtNG iNC.
March 5 , 2004
RECE~1/ED
Ms. Janet Binns
Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology MAR 15'2004
1313 Sher[nan St., Room 215 Llivisim a/Minerals and Ceaingr
Denver, CO 80203
Dear Janet:
Subject: Trapper Mine (Permit No. C-81-010) Technical Revision TR-93
2003 Annual Report, Appendix W
Two map changes were incorporated in Trapper's 2003 annual report. Topsoil information is included
on Map 1 (sheets 1-3), thus eliminating Map 3 (sheets 1-3). Hydrologic monitoring points are
identified on permit map M52, eliminating Map 2 (sheets 1-3). Map 1 is now inclusive of annual
reclamation work, dozer basin/stock tank information and topsoil pile locations. These changes
reduced the bulk of the report and add the advantage of more information on one set of maps.
Trapper Mine's Annual Report for 2003 is composed of seven sections. A description of each section
follows.
Section 1.0 reports 2003 reclamation activity as specified in Section 2.04.13 of the Colorado Mined
Land Reclamation Board Regulations for Coal Mining. All appropriate maps are enclosed.
Section 2.0 is the Annual Hydrology Report and is composed of eight subsections.
2.1 Climatological Data
2.2 Pit Dewatering and Consumptive Water Use for 2003
2.3 Mining Advancement and Ash Disposal
2.4 Monitoring Points
2.5 Hydrological Data (Hydro-Engineering Inc. report)
2.6 Hydrological Trends
2.7 Spoil Spring Sampling
2,8 WET Testing Results
Section 3.0 is a report on Trapper's drainage reconstruction efforts 1987-2003. It consists of a narrative
segment describing our reconstruction methods and results and reference maps showing the locations of
our drainage reconstruction efforts minewide. In 2003, approximately 2,200 feet of drainage
construction work was performed in the East Pyeatt drainage. Drainage repair work was completed on
approximately 15,500 linear feet of Johnson, No-Name, Pyeatt, Flume and Oak drainageways during
the 2003 field season.
Section 4.0 is reserved for future use.
P.O.
