<br />The Colorado Division of Reclamation,;
<br />Mining and Safety proposes to Approve,
<br />Technical Revision Application No. 63
<br />(TR-63) for the Deserado Mine (Permit
<br />No. C-1981-018), submitted by Blue
<br />Mountain Energy, Inc. This revisiori,
<br />i ~; proposes to add the plant species Yor-
<br />age Kochia' (Kochia pvostrate) to the
<br />reclamation seed mix. This forb spa-,
<br />cies is well adapted for use in the.
<br />mine area, is highly productive, is pal-,
<br />arable to livestock and wildlife, and is~
<br />competitive with cheatgrass.
<br />The 'Deserado Mine is an underground
<br />coal mine located in Rio Blanco Coun--;
<br />ty, approximately 7 miles northeast of
<br />Rangely, Colorado. Coal interest is.
<br />Federal and the surface affected is
<br />Federal and private land. The permit
<br />area encompasses approximately
<br />11,028.71 acres.
<br />This proposed decision is based on a;
<br />•, finding that the Droposed operation will
<br />comply with all requirements of the'
<br />Colorado Surface Coal Mining Recla-
<br />mation Act, Section 34-33-101, ei seq.,-
<br />C.R.S., and the regulations promulgat-,
<br />ed thereunder.
