NOTICE OF PROPOSED DECISION
COAL
The Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Division has issued a proposed decision on
February 19, 1985, approving with stipulations a technical revision to the
Mining and Reclamation p]an for the New Elk Mine, File No. C-012-81, under the
provisions of the Colorado Surface Coal Mining Reclamation Act of 1979.
The proposed revision was submitted by Wyoming Fuel Company, 445 Union Blvd.,
Suite 310, Lakewood, CO 80228, Telephone [phone], and entails a
realignment of the stream channel diversion of the Purgatoire River. These
activities will occur in Sections 14 and 23, T33S, R68W. 6th P.M.
The land surface is owned by Wyoming Fuel Company. Construction will begin
immediately upon approval by the Division.
U.S.G.S. 7.5 minute quadrangle map Vigil contains the area of the proposed
operation.

Planner, located in the Las Animas County Courthouse, Trinidad, Colorado.
Any person who has an interest which is, or may be, adversely affected may
request a formal hearing regarding this proposed decision. Requests for a
formal hearing must be made in writing within ten (10) days of this
publication and shall state with reasonable specificity the reasons for the
request and the objections to the proposed decision.
