BANTA, Dlreetor <br />February 26, 1988 <br />Ms. Barbara Sulder <br />Department of Historical Preservation <br />Colorado Historical Society <br />1300 Broadway <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br />Re: North Thompson Creek Mine Permit Renewal, Permit No. C-81-025 <br />Dear Ms. Sulder: <br />Pursuant to Title 33, Article 34, Paragraph 3, of the Colorado Revised <br />Statutes, the Mined Land Reclamation Division hereby issues notice that on <br />February 17, 1988, an application for renewal of a valid, existing permit to <br />conduct coal mining operations, Permit No. C-81-025, by Snowmass Coal Co, P, <br />0. Box 1354, Palisade, CO 81526, was deemed complete for the purposes of <br />filing. All reviews and comment periods as provided in the Act and <br />Regulations promulgated thereunder initiate from this day of filing. <br />The applicant proposes to continue conducting underground coal mining <br />operations in Pitking County in Sections 34 and 35, T8S, R89W, 6th P.M, and is <br />Garfield County in Sections 20 and 29, T7 S, R88W, 6th P.M. <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map <br />of Stony Ridge. A copy of the application is available for public inspection <br />at the Pitkin County Courthouse, 506 E Main, Aspen, CO. Written comments, <br />objections or requests for an informal conference on the application may be <br />submitted to, and additional information obtained from, the Mined Land <br />Reclamation Division, Room 423, 1313 Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado 80203, <br />(303) 866-3567. Written comments, objections or requests for an informal <br />conference must be filed at the Division by 5:00 p. m., within thirty days <br />after the last public notice in the local newspaper. <br />Sincerely yours, <br />Candace M.
