AAAINTENANCE OF REFUSE AREA DITCH <br />Dear Mr. Mathews: <br />Western Fuels-Utah hereby requests DMG's approval to () place riprap in the refuse area RP-2/3 and <br />RP-4 ditches, (ii) construct two contour ditches along the west slope of RP-2/3 for sediment control <br />and (iii) authorize WFU to maintain drainage and sediment control In the refuse piles on an as needed <br />basis. Riprep will be placed along approximatey 300 feet of the east side collection dftch of RP-213 <br />and about 50 feet of the east side collection ditch of RP-4. See enclosed Map 77. We plan to <br />construct two sediment control contour d'Rches from the west slope of RP-2/3 to tho east side <br />coilectlon ditch in oombinatlon with a series of straw bale dreck dams along the west side oollectlon <br />ditch in the area of excessive erosion. The west slope of RP 2/3 experiendng erosion is curtenty at <br />an irregular slope. Prior to installing the contour ditches, we plan to add material to this area to <br />achieve a proper slope. The ditches may not be needed 'rf the proper slope maintenance cortects the <br />erosion problem. SEDCAD run design for the ditches are included with this application. <br />wth this revision, WFU also requests DMG's approval authorizing WFU to maintain drainage and <br />sediment control during the refuse pile construction and prior to final reclamation on an as needed <br />basis. Flnal construction of erosion control ditches around the refuse areas will be completed during <br />the final reclamation process to meet design specfications.
