Your primary concern was the cost of seeding the site.
In reviewing the information you provided me, I figured seed cost from
our 1992 seed list from two sources, Sharp Brothers Company and
Garrison Seed Company.
RECOMMENDED SEEDING FROM THE MINE DIVISION:
Smooth brome 31bs
Pubescent wheatgrass 21bs
Little bluestem 21bs
Sideoats grams 41bs
Western wheatgrass 41bs
SHARP BROTHERS
303-356-471$
1.3O/Ibs=3.9$
1.85/Ibs=3.7$
5.50/Ibs=11.$$
5.5$/Ibs=22.00
4.10/Ibs=16.40
57.00
GARRISON SEED CO.
1-800-782-5947
1.6O/Ibs=4.80
1.55/Ibs=3.10
2.9$/Ibs=5.80
3.9O/Ibs=15.60
4.50/Ibs=18.00
47.30
TOTAL 151bs
Seed cast would range from 47-57 dollars/acre.
DRILLING COST - Most operators charge between 53.0$ - 56.$$ per acre.
Your cost would increase due to the transportation to
the site. I have included some seeding contractors
you may wish to contact. Broadcasting the seed and
dragging an implement to cover the seed may change the
costs.
MULCHING COST - I don't know how the mulching costs were arrived at,
but strawhay cost from 51.3$ - 52.$$ per bale
depending on quality. Assuming 6$Ib bales it would
require approximately 65 bales/acre to mulch the site.
Cost tc apply and tack the mulch again vary from
contractor to contractor. If you could do the work it
would be cheaper. Using our Great Plains cost docket
I have developed a cost of 5176.$$/acre for mulching
to include purchase and spreading of hay.
FERTILIZER - Our costs are X7.0$/acre for fertilizer applied if
5$f of Nitrogen and 5$>f' of Phosphates are used.
