~ ~ III III IIII II I IIII <br />July 29, 1996 <br />Re: Carbon Junction Mine (Pervtit No. C-92-080) <br />Technical Revision No. 03 <br />Midterm Review Responses <br />Dear <br />The Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, <br />Section 116, Paragraph 4, of [he Colorado Revised Statutes, that on July 29, 1996, an application to revise coal <br />mining operations at the Carbon Junction Mine was considered complete for the purposes of filing. The <br />revision was submitted by Oakridge Energy, Tnc. All review and comment periods as provided in the Act and <br />the Regulations initiate from this date of filing. <br />The revision addresses Oakridge Energy's response to the Division's midterm review of the permit, in which <br />the Division required clarification of the mining and reclamation plan. <br />The surface coal mining operation is on land located approximately two miles south of Durango, Colorado. <br />The permit area is further described as follows: <br />Township 34 Notth. Ranee 9 West. NMPM <br />Section 4 <br />Township 34~fi North. Ranee 9 Wes[. NMPM <br />Section 33 <br />Township 35 Notth. Range 9 West. NMPM <br />Section 33 <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle maps of Durango East and <br />Loma Linda. <br />A copy of the technical revision application is available for public inspection at the La Plata County Courthouse, <br />1060 Second Avenue, Durango, Colorado 81302, and at the Division office. For additional information or to <br />provide written comments, contact the Division of Minerals and Geology, Room 215, 1313 Sherman Street, <br />Denver, Colorado 80203, (303) 866-3567. In order for us to comply with regulatory time frames, we request <br />that comments be submitted within fifteen (15) days of this letter.
