The revised mixture reduces th~big sagebrush seeding rate and
adds chokecherry and serviceberry. Applicable pages of Tables 3.6-7 and 3.6-9 are also revised and
included to reflect a reduction in the allowable sceding rate of big sagebrush from 5.0 l0 3.0 PLS per
square foot.
Regarding documentation that mountain mahogany was not a significant component of the pro-
mining mountian brush plant community (Range Sites A&B), please refer to Section 2.3 in volume 1
of the permit document. Note that moantian mahogany is not even listed in Table 2.3-I (page 2-61)
which gives a comprehensive Gst of plant species encountered on the proposed pre-mining permit
area. Notice also that it does not appear in any of the other plant community/range site vegetation
summary fables in Section 2.3.
The enclosed changes should respond to your remaining concerns with this revision application and
allow it to be approved. As we discussed, however, I would like to continue a dialogue about the
relative merits of certain shrub species and seeding rates for the Range Sites A and B seed mixture.
Please contact me if you have Further questions or concerns.
Sincerely`a ~
Forrest Luke
Environmental Manager
rv[.
fCR74me2.doc~
~`~^ _Li
Encl
c File 109.2.3.4, w/aul me
Rcviaions nolebeok, w/rnc
P.O.
