Lung
I ll~~ ~ Division Director
RE: 08M Contact
I spoke with Rick Holbrook of the OSM/WSC regarding the incidental
boundary change for the O.C. Mine. I told him we are adding
approximately 8.5 acres that has already been mined. I told him
that O.C. had gotten the lease before they went through our
permitting process and for some reason this area was not included
under our permit. I told him that the mine is closed, the portals
are sealed, reclamation should be done this year and we are just
trying to clean up the file. I reminded him that he had spoken to
Dave Berry regarding this issue some time ago and he vaguely
remembered. I told him I called to make sure that it was
acceptable to do this as an incidental boundary change and a
federal mine plan approval would not be required. He said a
technical revision is fine and a federal mine plan approval would
not be necessary as they are not mining any additional coal.
cc: David Berry
