Reclamation Costs
This revision calls for a change to the reclamation
method allowing mining to take place up to the permit
boundary, maximizing the recovery of reserves.
Recontouring along the permit boundary will be accomplished
by backfilling and grading instead of reclamation blasting.
Colorado Lien Company will commit to having no more than
400 lineal feet of unbackfilled highwall along the 112
Permit boundary at any point in time. This will allow
reclamation to be carried out as stated in the current plan
with the only deviation being the need to move backfill
material of sufficient quantity to recontour and backslope
along a 40 foot highwall 400 feet in length maximum. At a
2 horizontal to 1 vertical final grade, this calculates
into 60 cubic yards per lineal foot, or a maximum of 24,000
cubic yards of back fill material required at any one time.
The average haul or push distance for this material would
1, be 500 feet.
The access road leading to mining phases in the
southwest portion of the quarry would be included in the
total disturbance and reclaimed as documented in the
current reclamation plan.
A~
