The Division denied your earlier request because cyanide levels in
the collection pond were still at levels considered to be potentially
hazardous to wildlife.
The Division approves this second request for cessation. You have
successfully shown that you have lowered cyanide levels in the tailings and
collection ponds to levels well below the threshold considered potentially
dangerous to wildlife and maintained these levels for over 30 days. This was
demonstrated by both in-house and outside laboratory analyses.
The Division is attaching the following conditions to this approval.
Security as approved for abatement item no. 1 will be resumed and the
Division will be notified immediately if pH readings exceed 9.0 and/or
WAD cyanide levels exceed 10 ppm. The resumption of security will
continue until the Division again approves cessation.
Battle Mountain Gold will continue to us
or other Division approved collection pc
treatment will continue until cyanide le
discharge pipe(s) from the tailings dam
cessation is approved by the Division.
average cyanide levels in the collection
standards for over one month.
e the present hydrogen peroxide
nd treatment system.
