As residents of the Gil-Rose neighborhood, located on Tiger Road,
this possibility raises many serious concerns.
Currently this valley is an ideal area in which to live and raise families and access
recreation. The current amount of truck traffic on Tiger Road in the summer poses
many safety issues. If this traffic is increased by the approval of this application, it
increases the danger to all of us who use this road daily. This includes the hikers,
bikers, and horseback riders who use Tiger Road to access recreational trails
including the Colorado Trail.
Approval of this operation will also cause noise, air and water pollution which
compromises wildlife habitat. Tn addition, Tiger Road was not designed or
constructed to handle heavy commercial truck traffic. Rock crushing is
incompatible with the County Master Plan and the Upper Blue Master Plan and
with the uses of Backcountry and Open Space.
We sincerely hope that you will keep all of the above issues in mind when voting on
this application. Your decision will seriously impact many Breckenridge and
Summit County citizens who use Tiger Road. Your consideration in this matter is
greatly appreciated.
Respectfully,
~-/~
~~ ~~
~~
