The Division of Minerals and Geology received Technical Revision (TR-Ol) for the Slab Canyon
Quarry, Permit No. M-1977-347 operated by Holcim (US), Inc. The revision was submitted as a
result of the Division's inspection of January 7, 2003. The revision involves the retention of
broadcast tower and transmitter building along with the necessary electrical transmission lines and
support facilities.
It is the Division's understanding that these facilities were not constructed under the Slab Canyon
Quarry, but installed on behalf of the landowner. Since the Slab Canyon Quarry is an active permit,
the operator is required to incorporate the facilities into the reclamation plan as a component of the
post mining land use.
A copy of the TR-Ol is enclosed. The Division intends to make a decision on the application by
