We had a meeting Tuesday, January 26'", 1994 with Sherrill
Sanchez who owns property south of the pit. Jo Millsaps, Mesa County Code
Enforcement Officer, was also present.
Prior to the meeting we had already constructed the berm. It is approximately
650' long, varies in height from 3' to 5' and varies in width from 15' to 30'. It was
constructed with overburden material and will remain in place until final reclamation of the
pit begins. The berm has atready been seeded with the S.C.S. mix that is described in the
permit application. In addition to the berm, a depression was left between the south edge
of the berm and the property line. A row of Cottonwood trees will be planted when
weather permits. The depression is so that these trees can be flood irrigated. A map is
included.
Jo Millsap found no violations of our Mesa County Conditional Use Permit. She
ageed that the work we were doing was not required by our county permit and was
pleased that we were willing to do so much to satisfy a neighbor's concerns.
Unfortunately, Sherrill Sanchez was not satisfied. She would like us to do something so
that she "cannot see or hear any" of the pit. If I can figure out a plan that will do this I
will call you. Thank you for yotu cooperation in what we have built so far.
Sincerely,
='~CEIV~CD Alan Parkerson
Vice President
i c
r;,
