After reviewing the current Reclamation Maps and those under th.~
- approved amerdm_ent ? found that any roads remaininc when reclama-
tion is. complete will be from 15 .to 18 feet wide. In addition,
this-road currently crosses an area that will eventually be mined
so it will be removed at some time in the future. The road that
will be left into the mine from bridge will run along the divider
between Highlands Take and Bluff lake. This road will be no wider
that 18 feet so it is consistent with the reclamation plan.
2. We are still, waiting on Kerr-McGee (KM) to final;.zt the agreement.
As 'I keep promising, as soon as we have it I will Set the Division
a copy. PS&G personnel talked to Alvin Kirkpatrick of the KM
Gathering Unit when the road crossings were bf.:ing constructed.
Alvin said the pipeline was 4 inch pipe buried 4 feet below the
surface and said putting an additional 48 inches of cover would b~
adequate to protect the lines. The total cover is now approximately
96+ inches of fill over the line and this additional fill protec+:s
them per the owners' requirements.
Allen Sorenson and I talked about this issue during the January
Board hearing. The only information we could get from KM is notes:
above so Allen suggested that doing calculations to determine the
cover amount without having the actual pipe thickness and type
would be nearly impossible. With Allens' help researching the
problem, h•. found two sources on the Internet that suggest typical
depths for gaslines that cross public roads are from 50 to 90
inches depending on the jurisdiction. Platte Sand & Gravel will
commit to have t: minimum of 92 inches of cover on the 4 inch
gaslines where haul roads cross them. On smal'_er or larger
diameter lines an analysis will be submitted to ' he. Division if the
crossing is not covered by an agreement as pzc~~cribed in Rules
6.4.19(a) or 6.4.19(c).
