Cattany <br />Division Director <br />Natural Resource Trustee <br />The Division of Minerals and Geology (DMG) has completed a review of the above referenced technical revision <br />application and has determined that the following items remain to be addressed prior to approval. <br />1. Please provide specifications for the pipes to be used to construct the perimeter drain and the design basis for <br />the type of pipe selected. <br />2. Provide a design and specification for the pipe bedding to be installed and either provide a demonstration that <br />the bedding will have filter compatibility with the surrounding soil or commit to wrapping the perforated <br />sections of pipe with a geotextile filter fabric sock. <br />3. The DMG will require a demonstration that the perimeter drain, once completed, is functioning to adequately <br />stabilize ground water levels outside the slurry wall. Please commit to continued monitoring of existing wells <br />until such fime that the DMG determines that continued monitoring is no longer necessary, based on an <br />analyses of data and request to discontinue monitoring that will be prepared and submitted to DMG by <br />Aggregate Industries. <br />4. Provide a design and specification for the armoring to be installed in the proposed reservoir spillway and <br />describe the design basis for the sizing of the spillway and the riprap. <br />The 30-day time period for DMG review of the technical revision TR-004 application ends on September 1, 2004. <br />Please provide a letter at your eazliest convenience designating a new decision date for the technical revision <br />considering the time it will take to prepare responses to this letter and leaving at least 10 working days for the DMG to <br />review those responses (this date can always be changed later if you fmd you need more time). <br />If you have any questions, please contact me at 303-866-4063. <br />Sin el , ~~ <br />Allen C.
