Cattany <br />Division Director <br />Natural Resource Trustee <br />FROM: Allen Sorenso ~~~ <br />~~`lll f <br />RE: Copies of Documents Generated by the Division of Minerals and Geology's Review of the <br />Application, Everist Materials, L.L.C., Mascot Placer, Conversion Revision CN-001, Permit <br />No. M-1998-052 ~/ 1/- <br />Please find enclosed a copy of a letter dated May 26, 2004 wherein the Colorado Division of Minerals and <br />Geology (DMG) lists issues to be addressed by Everist Materials prior to the DMG's consideration of the <br />Conversion Application CN-001. The Conversion Application was submitted by Everist to convert their <br />dredge pile removal operation at the Mascot Placer from a 110c limited impact permit of 9.9 acres to a 112c <br />regular permit of 89 acres, of which only 42 acres will be affected by dredge rock removal. Also enclosed is a <br />copy of the DMG inspection report from the June 1, 2004 inspection of the Mascot Placer. <br />Once Everist Materials has responded to the DMG adequacy review letter, we will issue a recommendation to <br />approve, approve with conditions, or deny the CN-001 application. The earliest date for DMG consideration <br />of the application is June 14, 2004. You will be sent a copy of the DMG's written recommendation once it is <br />prepared. <br />As a reminder, the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board will hold a Formal Public Hearing on the CN- <br />001 application during their meetings on June 22-23, 2004 beginning at 10:00 am the first day and at 9: 00 am <br />the second day. Please note that the 9:00 am start for the second day of hearings on June 23 is a change from <br />notifications previously sent. At the hearing, persons with party status will have the opportunity to be <br />represented and heard.
