The revised plan
includes reclamation of the Sherwood property (which is included in the permitted Distel
property), and duect surface water flow from Sherwood into a series of ponds to be
constructed on Longmont's Bigelow property. Reclamation will be completed as part of
Longmont's open space master plan for the St. Vrain river corridor and includes:
wetlands; ponds and, upland meadows. The final land use and layout of the reclaimed
azeas has been developed in conjunction with the Longmont Pazks and Recreation
Department, Boulder County and other land owners to ensure compatibility with the long
term planning goals of the area.
The currently approved Distel Reclamation Plan calls for the creation of approximately
73 acres of open water and 28.4 acres of wetlands. The revised Reclamation Plan for the
combined properties will include creation of eight (8) ponds with a combined size of
approximately 60 acres along with associated wetland azeas of approximately 30 acres.
The remainder of the disturbed azea will be reclaimed as uplands. The approximate
location of the wetland azeas and ponds to be constructed during reclamation is illustrated
on the revised Exhibit F.1 (see enclosed). The final location of these azeas is somewhat
dependent on the post-mining topography of the disturbed azea.
zzss Mendow Avnu¢
PQ.
