Lupton Sand and Gravel Mine Permit Amendment Russell George Enecutive Director RE: Pre-hearing Conference and Formal Public Hearing for Ronald W. Cattany Ft. Lupton Sand and Gravel Mine Permit No. M-1999-120 Division DlreaGr Natural Resource Trustee Dear Party and/or Interested Person: The Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology (DMG) has received an objection to the permit amendment application for the Ft. Lupton Sand and Gravel Mine. Therefore, staff has scheduled the matter for Formal Public Hearing before the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board, for consideration. The hearing for consideration the Ft. Lupton Sand and Gravel Mine permit amendment will occur during the January 19 8 20. 2005 Board meeting at Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street, Room 318, Denver, Colorado 80203, commencing at 10:00 a.m. or as soon thereafter as the matter can be considered on January 19 or 9:00 a.m. or as soon thereafter s the matter can be considered on January 20. Parties and interested persons will have the opportunity to be heard. A Pre-hearing Conference has been scheduled to occur on January 12. 2005, beginning at 10:00 a.m., at 1313 Sherman Street, Room 215, Denver, Colorado 80203. Ms. Sandra Brown will preside as Pre- hearing Conference Officer. The purpose of the Pre-hearing Conference is to describe the Office's review process, to explain the rights and responsibilities of parties, to discuss and resolve issues to the extent possible, to describe the Board Hearing processes, to determine the list of issues under the Board's jurisdiction and to simplify the list, and to determine who has demonstrated standing to be a party to the Formal Board Hearing. Please review the enclosed informational memo, dated October 2, 2001, RE: Citizen Participation in the 112 Reclamation Permit Application Process Revised October 19, 2001, and complete either of the last two pages, if applicable, and return the completed form to DMG or bring the completed form to the Pre- hearing Conference.
