Located near Section 24,
Township 6 South, Range 77 West, 6"' Principal Meridian
TO Whom It May Concern:
I am writing this letter with much concern over Everest Materials, LLC acquiring the 112
reclamation permit. It seems that the next step is the set up of a crushing plant. In the
past there has been a great concern from the residents that live on Tiger Road that truck
traffic would increase dramatically. Tiger Road is a residential community with many
bicyclists and pedestrians with childrea and is a link to the Colorado trail which is used
throughout the yeaz.
The citizens of this community have never azgued the past 110 permit and all agree that
there is a need for these resources. But all agree that having a crusher in this area is out
of the question. There has been much opposition from previous contractors trying to
acquire a permit to crush aggregate material.
Tiger Road is a very rural road with narrow sections and poor sub surface conditions. As
to the wildlife habitat, the Swan Valley is a major migration route for the local elk herd.
To my knowledge there has not been a wildlife impact study. It is evident that wetlands
have been impacted by previous efforts with little regazd to the surrounding habitat.
The 110 Permit seems to be working well with the surrounding open space and out back
azeas. Residents do not argue the extraction of the tailings but will oppose the set up of
any sort of crushing operations. The current Summit County Commissioners aze awaze
of the past public concern and I would hope that the Division of Minerals and Geology
take a close look at the future intentions.
Sincer ly,
Rob and Deb Neyland
Concerned Citizens ~'
6ETT-ESb-OL6
~~
pueTRaN 4021 eEb~OT b0 ET ~eW
