M-1942-051)
~I£EPLY TO INSPECTION REPORT COMPLETID ON September 22, 2006
Deaz Mr. Keffelew:
In response to your observations we would respectfully submit the following information
that we have in our file for the Permit No. M-1992-051:
1.) The entire Application and all the completed exhibits, as submitted to the Division of
Reclamation, Mining and Safety on January 13, 1996 are enclosed. This will help the
Division and myself assemble the information that you requested. As you know this was
a conversion of two existing 110 permits M-81-036 the Cazestia Pit and M-92-051 the
Florence Sand and Gravel Pit.
As I reviewed application document on page two (2) Item # 10 Primary Future (Post-
mining) land use. the check use was IndustdaU Commercial (IC), next Item # 11 Pdmarv
present land use, the check was Industrial !Commercial (IC). I believe this should clarify
the land use and the reclamation plan as submitted for the conversion. Mr. Barnhart
comprehensively explained the reclamation in Exhibit "E".
2.) Additionally I am submitfing with the above package two facsimiles of a letter written
by Michael J. Markus City Planner with the city of Florence. In this letter Mr. Markus
states in the first paragraph "The Ciry of Florence is in agreement with the Division of
Minerals and Geology's condition that the operator reclaim this site by plating it with 12
inches of pit-run gravel. This would be in keeping with the applicant's future plans for
the property, and that fact that is it is it zoned heavy industrial. These plans do conform
with City of Florence heavy industrial district zone regulations." I will mark the
documents as Exhibits "X" and Exhibit "Y" both will have an original fax cover sheet
showing the dates and to whom they where sent. This statement by Mr. Markus shows
that the Ciry of Florence is in agreement with the Reclamation Plan of the Post-Mining to
be Heavy Industrial, which is the dominate zoning surrounding the area in question.
