(BMRI) - San Luis Projiect
Pump System
Enclosed is the ioiiow-uN letter to Co _c Labs coc?cern.~„g r~^.f~ar sam_r.,le
handling protocol. A copy of the Standard Operating Procedures, as
per approved TR-06, was also sent to Core Labs. These actions were in
response to the Division's November 7 letter.
In addition to contacting Core Labs, a slightly modified sample
shipping, scheduling, and tracking program has been implemented.
Extra ice is being ordered from Core Labs and will be added to all
water coolers to maintain the proper temperature of 4°C. W@ have also
started using UPS groundtracking. We started this procedure on
recommendation bji the Alamosa UPS manager who stated that gxpected
delivery time from San Luis to Denver is one day. By grourydtrac:kirig
we will be able to know where the coolers are and when they are
delivered. If this procedure shows that the coolers are ndt being
received by the lab the very next day then other means will be used
with the cooperation of UPS.
In order to eliminate the possibility of cross contamination between
wells, we have recently installed a dedicated pump system im wells M-
9, M-12, M-13, M-13R, and M-14. These are the water producing
monitoring wells downgradient of the tailings disposal area. All
sampling events will be scheduled to allow time to prepare the water
samples for UPS pick-up on the same day as the samples are collected.
Biweekly sampling will take place at as close to the beginning of the
week as possible, thus, preventing weekend delivery delays.
Sincerely,
~ ~C l
~ %~~/
Sally Ha es
Environmental Engineer
cc: Anne Baldrige
Dan Robertson
Alana Scott
A SUBS/DIARY OF RATTLE .410UMd/N COLD COMPAA'Y
P.O.
