(WWL), agent for Occidental Oil Shale, Ino. (OOSf), received your letter <br />regarding Logan Wash Mine (Permit M-77-424) Amendment No. 1 Preliminary Adequacy Review on <br />December 1 ~`, 2006. As aclalowledged by the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (DRMS), <br />the review was submitted late, as the approval date for the Amendment is December 4'~. The adequacy <br />review requests that Occidental address 6 items. Of these items, issue number 1 requires U.S. Bureau <br />of Land Management approval and issues 5 and 6 concern ahemative treatment of the retort mine <br />drainage and will require a significant engineering effoR As a result, W WL respectfully requests a 90- <br />day extension to address and respond to the adequacy issues. <br />Please contact me at 970-242-0170 with any comments or concerns you may have. <br />Sincerely, <br />Bruce D.
