Walther
Executive Director
Ronald W. Cattany
Acting Division Director
On July 10, 2002, the Division of Minerals and Geology (DMG) approved your application for Technical
Revision No. 1 to Permit No. M-1987-074. The revision addresses incorporation of the language
required by Rule 4.2.1(6) allowing a federal land management agency to hold the reclamation bond for
the site white the State of Colorado hold a minimum $100.00 financial warranty. The provisions of TR-
01 are hereby considered to be a binding part of Permit No. M-1987-074. All other conditions of the
permit remain in full force and effect.
The current required financial warranty held by DMG is $30,000.00. This warranty amount was last
recalculated in 1997 and is due for a recalculation which may adjust the amount required. However, for
the purposes of this revision, Mayne Block will need to submit documentation from the Bureau of Land
Management (BLM) indicating the amount of financial warranty they will require. If the amount they
require is $29,900.00 or more, DMG will only require a financial warranty in the amount of $100.00. If
BLM requires an amount less than $29,900.00, DMG will require a financial warranty in the amount of
the difference between the BLM amount and $30,000.00. The financial warranty currently held by DMG
will not be released until documentation is submitted indicating the BLM financial warranty is in place
and the DMG bond has been submitted and approved.
If you need additional information, please contact me at the Division of Minerals and Geology, Grand
Junction Field Office, 101 South Third Street, Room 301, Grand Junction, Colorado 81501, telephone
no. 970-243-6368.
Sincerely,
~~
Steve S.
