This matter has been scheduled for Formal Public <br />Hearing before the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board. The hearing for consideration of CN-001 <br />to the Mascot Placer permit will take place during the June 22-23, 2004 Board meeting at 1313 Sherman <br />Street, Room 318, Denver, Colorado, commencing at 10:00 a.m. each day or as soon thereafter as the <br />matter can be considered. Parties and interested persons will have the opportunity to be heard. The <br />specific day on which this hearing will be held maybe obtained from the Board's secretary by calling <br />303-866-3567 on June 21, 2004. <br />We will also be conducting aPre-Hearing Conference on June 1, 2004 in the Buffalo Mountain Room of <br />the County Commons Facility, 0037 Peak One Drive, Frisco. This Conference is scheduled to begin at 12 <br />o'clock noon, and will be held for the following purposes: <br />• describe the DMG's permit application review process, <br />• explain the rights and responsibilities of parties to the hearing (anyone who submitted written <br />comments during the public comment period may become a party to the hearing if they so <br />choose), <br />• discuss and resolve issues to the extent possible, <br />• describe the Board Hearing processes and establish a schedule for the hearing, <br />• establish the list of issues under [he Board's jurisdiction and consolidate and simplify the list to <br />the extent possible, <br />• determine who has demonstrated standing to be a party to the Formal Public Hearing. <br />Attending the Pre-Hearing Conference for the State of Colorado will be Sandra Brown of the DMG as <br />Pre-Hearing Conference Officer, Tyson Powell, Attomey General's Office as counsel to the Mined Land <br />Reclamation Board, Steve Brown, Attorney General's Office as counsel to the DMG, and myself, Allen <br />Sorenson, DMG reclamation specialist assigned to the Mascot Placer project. <br />Please review the enclosed informational memo, dated October 2, 2001, RE: Citizen Participation in the <br />112 Reclamation Permit Process Revised October 19, 2001, and complete either of the last two pages, if <br />Office of Office of Colorado <br />Mined Land Reclamation Active and Inactive Mines Geological Survey <br />
