I believe both proposals should be denied. It is my understanding that applicants are seeking: (1) to reduce the wetlands on the property, from five lakes to two, and from 38 acres to 4 acres. (2) to change culvert installations and to avoid regrading a portion of the mined area. I understand that this request was filed as a "technical revision" on November 25, 1996 but is now proceeding as a amendment to their permit and is subject to technical review by your agency. Any changes in the topography of this land, large portions of which are in the floodplain, should be carefully monitored. None should be approved which would jeopardize downstream property, including homes in Frasier Meadows and possibly also homes in Martin Acres and Majestic Heights. In addition, the drastic reduction in water on this property sought by the applicant(s) is totally inconsistent with the anticipated reclaimed use of the property.
