Pages in the permit application have been updated to reflect the
changes as well. Two copies of all modified materials are included in this package.
1. The location of the main entrance to the Haldorson Sand and Gravel Mine in
longitude/latitude is 038° 30' 8.89"N / 107° 56' 3.36" W.
2. Since Map C-1 is busy and some detail in the map is lost or hard to discern, Map C-1 has
been split up into two separate maps. Map C-lA consists primarily of the natural
features. Map C-1 B consists mostly of manmade features. We believe that splitting the
map into these two maps will make it easier to discern all detail. The area of the previous
permit which has been removed has also been added to Map C-1 A in order to compare
the current permit area with the proposed permit area.
3. Temporary berms will always be placed around the perimeter of the mining operation in
order to create a screen for visual impacts and noise. Temporary berms will always be
placed around the active mining Phases on all sides. These berms will be 8 feet high with
a 3H:1 V slope except for the internal south berms, which will only be 2 feet high. A note
to describe this has been added to Map C-2, in order to clarify this issue, however
temporary berms are not shown on this map as the map would become too cluttered if the
berms were to be shown at every location.
4. The ratio for the proposed temporary seed mix has been added to the Mining Plan. The
percentage of each species will be the same and will total I S pounds per acre of
temporary seed mix which will be applied to the topsoil berms and temporary stockpiles.
This results in 5 pounds of live seed per acre each of slender wheatgrass, western
wheatgrass, and thickspike wheatgrass.
