This hearing has been scheduled to review the enforcement status of
the American Fuels, Inc. permit for the New Pryor Strip Mine and to decide
whether permit C-031-81 should be suspended or revoked and bond number
800097278 (a corporate surety) forfeited.
These proceedings result from a finding by the Division that patterns of
violation of the Colorado Surface Coal Mining Reclamation Act exist far the
New Pryor Mine. This finding resulted in issuance of an Order to Show Cause
Why Permit Should Not Be Suspended Or Revoked to American Fuels, Inc. on
May 3, 1985. The Board heard the matter on July 25, 1985, at which time they
decided to suspend permit C-035-81 and review the matter for revocation and
bond forfeiture at the August meeting.
If you have any further questions, or wish to cormnent on the matter please
feel free to call me at (303) 866-3567.
Sincerely,
Brian E.
