Box 1354 <br />Palisade, Colorado 81526 <br />(303) 464-7951 <br />June 12, 1989 <br />Dear Mr. Crick' <br />l~V~ ('r, <br />On~May 12, 1989, Snowmass received Notice of Violation C-89-014. <br />The steps necessary to abate the violation listed on the NOV are <br />as follows: <br />1) Cessation of use of Pond P-9, and ditch south and east of <br />P-9, as parts of the mine water treatment system, and return <br />to compliance with the approved system. <br />On June 7, 1989, the chemical injection system was restarted. <br />On June 8th the mine seepage water discharge was returned to <br />NPDES outfall 001. On June 9th the ditch south and east of P-9 <br />was no longer being used to convey water from P-9. <br />Therefore, as of June 9th, the steps necessary- to abate the <br />violation had been completed. <br />Please let me know if Sou need anv additional information. <br />Sincerely, <br />kaym% <br />Jim Stover, P.E. <br />Chief Engineer <br />
