On~May 12, 1989, Snowmass received Notice of Violation C-89-014.
The steps necessary to abate the violation listed on the NOV are
as follows:
1) Cessation of use of Pond P-9, and ditch south and east of
P-9, as parts of the mine water treatment system, and return
to compliance with the approved system.
On June 7, 1989, the chemical injection system was restarted.
On June 8th the mine seepage water discharge was returned to
NPDES outfall 001. On June 9th the ditch south and east of P-9
was no longer being used to convey water from P-9.
Therefore, as of June 9th, the steps necessary- to abate the
violation had been completed.
