Hernandez, Senior Reclamation Specialist ~~ <br />RE: Trinida d Basin Mining Company, Trinidad Basin Mine, <br /> Permit No. C-81-048, NOV C-92-013 <br />This is a request for an extension of an NOV abatement deadline <br />beyond the statutory 90 day limit. NOV C-92-013 was issued to <br />Trinidad Basin Mining Company on July 16, 1992 for failing to <br />maintain permanent impoundment 15-P1 at the Trinidad Basin Mine. <br />The abatement activity involves removal of pond sediment and <br />recertification of the impoundment. <br />The abatement extension is needed due to the operator being <br />granted a continuance of its assessment conference from <br />September 11, 1992 to November 13, 1992, to allow the operator <br />time to gather additional technical information relevant to its <br />defense.
