As you know from your recent site visit, the present
entry/exit to the site is at the northwest corner of the affected land and is limited in
turning radius and visibility for trucks traveling south on Phantom Canyon Road, the
primary route for Fremont County Road and Bridge Department haulage. Fremont
County wishes to request a technical revision or amendment that would facilitate a
southern entrance to the pit and pit development along the southern end of the gravel
area gradually moving to the north to meet with the existing gravel extraction azea
currently underway. An appropriate amount of currently undisturbed affected land along
the eastern border of the site will be removed from the affected land boundary in lieu of
the small acreage necessary to include the 30' x 370' access road from affected land to
Phantom Canyon Road. This would keep the overall acreage of the site at less than 10
acres. This southern.access would alleviate a potential safety hazard on a very remote
and difficult stretch of county maintained roadway. I am aware that this type of
"revision" may entail public notice and request for comment by the land owner, the State
Land Boazd. Please forwazd me any information you may have the on the most economic
way of proceeding. I am including a map of the proposed changes to the affected land
with a legal description showing the exact locations of affected land boundazies and
proposed roadway.
Thank you for your consideration.
Very Truly Y urs,
c ~
Kenneth S.
