Cottony
Division Director
Natural Resource Trustee
Through telephone conversations between Lewicki and Associates and staff ,the operator has
accepted the Division's calculations for reclamation liability. Therefore', the Division will set the
initial reouired bond for AM-01 at 591.100.00. The calculations take into account changes ih the
mining and reclamation plans which require continuous reclamation as mining progresses. Please
note the Division will be required to re-exam the bond if the operator fails to live up to this
commitment.
Staff has received the final documentation requested on November 4`n, 2004 for additional
information. Based on the review of the submitted application and replies to issues noted by the
Division staff during the review process, it appears that the application now meets all the
requirements of the Rules and Regulations for an amendment to the current permit. Therefore,
staff is please to inform Lewicki and Associates and Haldorson and Sons that AM-01 is aoproved.
The amendment includes the addition of 24.27 acres and addresses changes to the Mining and
Reclamation Plans.
Additionally, part of the amended area encompasses Haldorson's 1 10c operation, the North D-21
pit, permit No. M-1994-083. Upon acceptance by the Division of the additional bond reouired for
the amendment, M-1994-083 will be terminated and the financial warranty released.
If you need additional information, please contact me at the Division of Minerals and Geology,
Grand Junction Field Office, 101 S. 3rd St., Suite 301, Grand Junction, Colorado 81501,
telephone no. 970.241.1117.
Sincerely,
G.
