At the outset we should note that
BMRI is absolutely committed to reaching an acceptable
resolution to the issues surrounding TR-08 and moving
forward with the measures necessary to implement its
conditions. It is in this spirit that BMRI submits tYue
following proposal.
As noted in your letter, the five conditions for approval
were first proposed by the Division in a letter dated (April
9 and were discussed extensively in a meeting between BMRI
and the Division on July 2. In your July 12 letter, you
propose a modification to condition 1 and suggest that the
remaining proposed conditions be accepted as set forth in
your April 9 letter. Unfortunately, this proposal does not
adequately address the issues raised by BMRI at the
July 2 meeting and is therefore not acceptable in its
present form. However, BMRI groposes that we proceed as
follows.
As we discussed
installation of
collection pond
acceptable to BI
the lined area.
installation of
BMRI would like
these wells and
future.
at the meeting, condition 2 relating to the
an additional monitoring well between the
and the toe of the tailings embankment is
~IRI.
